Lazy Day...
Today is usually my crazy day. Lessons, biology and grocery shopping... But biology was cancelled and Brett needed my van (his car is in the shop for inspection) and so I had to cancel lessons as well and with no car it's kinda hard to go grocery shopping. So, I get a nice quiet day at home! Well, I don't suppose quiet is the right word - I still have 3 kids at home and they can be quite noisy!!!! I do have stuff that I need to get done... But oh, I just feel soooo lazy today! I want to lounge about and do nothing at all....

13 Things about My Experience with Homeschooling
13 Things about.... My experience with Homeschooling!
13. It aint easy! It never was easy and it hasn't gotten any easier with time and experience!
12. Unlike most parents, I do NOT rejoice when school starts... I much, much prefer summer vacation!!
11. Learning the 'educationese' has been KEY to survival.
10. Somedays are just too nice to do school.
9. Sometimes life happens and school doesn't.
8. I can't keep up with the Jones' (or the Teals either! :). I'm not supposed to! I only need to be doing what God calls me to do. No more and no less.
7. There is more to life than school.
6. Spending more money isn't the answer.
5. Jesus is our salvation - NOT homeschooling!
4. When people find out you homeschool they are bound to quiz your kids.
3. My kids are never quite sure what grade they are in.
2. Not all homeschooling moms wear jumpers!
1. I really would miss my kids if they were in school all day!!

Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures!
I've been working on pictures most of the day. I know, I know, what's new?! Mostly I was working on wedding pictures. And not even the ones that I took! I've been editing my mom's pix. The Cocuzzi's said they would be coming to look at pictures soon so I figured I should get a jump start on 'em.
I did have a little fun with pictures last night... I made this from a picture of a spider I took quite sometime ago. He was on a white plate so it was easy to cut him out and put him on several layers and move him around and rotate him into different postitions. I don't know what possesses me! But it was fun. :)

What's wrong with that picture?
Yesterday Brett was looking at my blog and he noticed something was wrong with the picture of Jessi that I posted!! You know the saying that pictures never lie? Well... It never was true, but it is less and less true with all the photo manipulation going on out there! (And this one had only the tiniest bit of manipulation to it!!! LOL)
So... my question of the week, can you guess what is wrong with that picture?

Thirteen Things about Rochester General Hospital
We've had a little adventure this week. Jessi's eye swelled up like a balloon Saturday and she ended up in the hospital. We went into emergency Saturday night around 11 and she was discharged Monday morning around 11:15. This is a picture taken Sunday evening and already the swelling had gone down considerably! We've dubbed her 'Petey' after the dog in Little Rascals cuz they drew a nice black ring around the swelling in permanent marker so that they could see if the swelling had gone down.
Seeing as today is Thursday AND seeing as we've had this little adventure, I thought we'd write "Thirteen Things about Rochester General Hospital".
1. Service is slooooooow.
2. Their eggs are disgusting but their blueberry muffins are yummy. (According to Jessi anyway. I ended up eating Jessi's eggs and I must say - they were pretty yuck but I didn't get even 1 bite of that muffin!)
3. The bed goes up and down and every which way and can be quite amusing - especially when there isn't much else to do!
4. Someone comes in to check your blood pressure, or your temperature, or to give you more medicine or SOMETHING all night long!!!
5. They give you a beautiful personalized bracelet which you can take home with you as a momento from your visit.
6. If you want to watch TV you have to cycle through the channels until you get to the one that you want. If you happen to miss the channel that you want (I did that once), you have to go through them all over again and there are over 70 channels!! By the time you find the station you want your show could be half over.
7. They ask the same questions over and over and over again.
8. Most everyone is helpful and nice and they really seem to care.
9. Their game room has Connect 4 and Rummycube and all sorts of other games and books to help you pass the time away.
10. The halls are freezing! But our room was nice and toasty cuz you have your own heater/thermostat in your room. Thank you Lord!!! :)
11. They make you pee in a 'hat' (I think that's what they called it) so they can measure it. YUCK!
12. Their recliners are NOT comfortable to sleep in! I ended up in bed with Jessi.
13. They give you a pair of fuzzy slipper socks so you don't slip and fall and end up in the hospital!!

13 Things Garfield Hates
Martha says that Thursdays are for writing a list of 13 Things about a subject. Well... Jessi was reading a Garfield comic strip and I thought we would make a list of 13 Things that Garfield hates. It shouldn't be too hard - Garfield seems to hate a LOT of things. So, here goes!
1. Mondays
2. Diets
3. Scales
4. The mailman
5. Going to the farm
6. Exercise - especially jogging!
7. Waking up (sometimes I not too crazy about that either!!)
8. Eating mice
9. February (I didn't know that!)
10. Dogs
11. When he doesn't get his meals on time
12. His birthday
13. Camping
Coming soon... 13 Things Garfield Loves!

Starting over...
I've decided to start this blog over!! So... Here goes....
As everyone who knows me knows - I love taking pictures! So much so that whenever I pull out the camera everyone runs. Even the dog!!!! So I have to resort to things that can't run. Such as.... STRAWS!
You know you are a photo junkie when....
You have over a hundred photos of straws on your hard drive not counting edited versions!
I spent a couple of hours last night getting this picture just right!! But hey! It was a cheap thrill!!
A self portrait.
ugh! I hate my picture!!
