I've been struggling lately with focus. Why is it that when God has blessed me with so many good and wonderful things I see only the negative?
Lord, forgive me for focusing on the negative and for not setting my mind on that which is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and of good repute. Cause me to dwell that which is excellent and worthy of praise!

Redecorating Continues
Slowly but surely we are getting there!
We only have one wall left to paint in the dining room!
I got these window scarves at Target the other day for the living room. (Actually, the Target in Webster only had two so Brett ran out to Fairport today and got another one.) They kinda pull all the colors from both the living room and dining room together.

Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest
While in Virginia this past summer we visited Thomas Jefferson's summer home - Poplar Forest. Of course I took tons of pictures (though we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the home!). Unfortunately the sky was a little bland on many of them. But, I have a file of skies on hand for just such occasions!
Before pictures:
I cut the sky out, slid the new sky underneath and combined the two pictures. And voila!
This is the final result:
Okay, so it's a bit more complicated than that. LOL. But that's the general idea. :)

Romance is in the Air
Okay, so I'm not very romantic. But Martha wants me to post something romantic in honor of Valentine's Day. So here is my pathetic attempt....
He's a good kisser.
Things about my hubby...
He's good looking even with the grey hairs and receding hairline!
He's been married to me for almost 20 years now (May 23rd!).
He'd love to quit his job but he's waiting for God to show him where he's supposed to be.
He frequently says, "Relax!"
He took flying lessons when we were first married.
He hates dressing up - which is good cuz so do I!
He's 6 feet tall.
He likes bull dogs.
He likes maraschino cherries - YUCK!
His favorite sport is NASCAR. (I don't really think it's a sport - but he insists it is!)
His favorite driver is Tony Stewart.
He doesn't like to swim.
He says he can't float on his back - but that's cuz he refuses to put his ears in the water.
He's got muscles - maybe not like Popeye...
He tried to blow up a fly in the microwave once.
He loves to read about WWI.
He is good with computers.
He went on a mission trip to Brazil when he was 20.
His first car was a Buick Regal.
He has one brother.
He always wanted a sister.
His birthday is June 3rd.
He's 3 1/2 years older than me.
He plays the guitar.
He loves chocolate.
He had a beard and mustache when we first met.
He'd probably grow them again if I'd let him!!
He doesn't like crowds.
He was a troublemaker in school.
He has a great sense of humor.
He's very good at helping around the house.
He sneezes a lot when he first wakes up.
He played basketball and baseball in highschool.
He's a good storyteller.
He once stole an ice cream from school and hid it in his pocket when the principle came to have a chat with him.
He called peas 'super pills' when he was a kid.
He mixes his corn in with his mashed potatoes.
He eats pizza with a fork. And french fries too!
He's never been skiing.
He'd like to visit Germany or England or Scotland...
He's smarter than me.
He's pretty good at crossword puzzles.
He goes to bed around 10 PM.
He likes to listen to shortwave radio.
He doesn't like cauliflower in his salad.
He likes to fish but doesn't care for hunting.
I think he's jealous of my pillow.
He likes the colors we picked for our living room and dining room.
He hates to paint!
He likes music.
He threw a clog at me once.
He irons his own clothes.
He likes to watch Professional Bull Riding.
He's not nearly as gross as I am!
He enjoys playing pool.
And strip Monopoly too.
He's very affectionate.
Sorry guys... that's about as romantic as I get - at least publicly. LOL.
Happy Valentines Day!

Another Collage
I'm still working on collages of the mall. It's been great fun! Last week I was In the Zone - a neat sports store with all kinds of memorabilia to photograph. Fun, Fun! The owner of the shop was very gracious as I spent quite a bit of time in there getting the photos I wanted. I do take my time! LOL. Sure hope he's happy with his collage.

The Kindess of God
20So Joseph's master took him and put him into the jail, the place where the king's prisoners were confined; and he was there in the jail. 21But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. 22The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it. - Genesis 39:20-22
How many of you would have seen the LORD's kindness in that situation? I think I might have been griping about the situation I was in rather than seeing God's goodness and kindness!
Lord, Help me to see things as you see them and to recognize your kindness even in the tough situations!

Pam
This is Pam from Perdita's. Besides taking photo's of their lovely hair salon, I also did a few portraits of her. The joy of the Lord just radiates from Pam and it was a real pleasure photographing her!
I love the challenge of location portraits. There is always something unique about each location which stretches me photographically and that is just what I need if I want to get better. I also love that it shows something about the person! This one, of course, showing her in her work environment. As you can probably tell, she was a natural in front of the camera!! :)

Perdita Marcel's
I had the privilege of photographing Perdita Marcel's hair salon Tuesday night. It's located in the Medley Center Mall. They wanted a collage of their shop declaring PROSPERITY over it. What a great bunch of people!! They play praise and worship music in the shop - how cool is that?! Anywayz... I had a blast and was thrilled with the results!
