I finally let Jessi carve her pumpkin. She was a bit disappointed that we couldn't find our special pumpkin carving knife and we couldn't find one at Rite Aid or the Dollar General. She was worried she couldn't do it with a regular knife - but I think she did GREAT!

I think she did a great job! We always just use our kitchen knives too.

Yeah... I suppose most people use kitchen knives. A couple of years ago I bought one of those special pumpkin carving knives. At first I was thinking that I was probably getting ripped off! But the kids were able to really carve some cool looking pumpkins with more detail using them. Well worth the few bucks they cost!! I'm gonna hafta get another next year!!
She did do great! The knife you are talking about does make it easier though. :)
