Oh what good, good news! :) I was thinking this week about how Jesus CHOSE to walk through that for us. Most everyone has endured hardship of one kind or another... but not many of us would have CHOSEN to walk through most of our hardships... We endured simply because we had no other choice! But Jesus... He could have at any moment called it all off and gone back to His Father!!! When the pain got unbearable - He continued to endure. He is sooooo good!!!
I have been reading through Luke and came across a couple of verses that really stood out to me this week.
"I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!"
Wow! We don't often think of the emotional trauma that Jesus must have suffered in the days leading up to the crucifixion, but He knew what was ahead. And He followed through inspite of all the mocking and rejection, just because of His great love for us.
